This yogurt souffle is both delicious and easy. I modified the original recipe I found because I only have two large ramekins and I only had an individual yogurt cup on hand which is smaller than the recipe calls for.

The first time I made them I used this yogurt.

My recipe for 2 large ramekins

5.3 oz cup of yogurt

2 large egg yolks

2 large egg whites

2.5 tablespoons flour

pinch of salt

1 tsp vanilla

1/8 tsp cream of tarter

1/4 cup sugar

Preheat oven to 375 F degrees. Butter the ramekins and coat with a layer of sugar. In a large bowl whisk together yogurt, egg yolks, flour, salt and vanilla. In a stand mixer or with an electric hand mixer beat egg whites with cream of tarter until foamy. Then gradually mix in sugar and beat on high until firm and soft peaks form. Mix 1/3 of the egg whites into to the yogurt mixture and incorporate well. Add another 1/3 of the egg whites and gently fold, then gently fold in the remaining egg white mixture.

Place ramekins on a baking sheet and pour the mixture in. I filled the ramekins to the line below the rim.

I baked mine for 18 minutes until the were evenly risen and light brown around the edges. The original recipe called for 15 minutes but mine were larger so they took a little longer.

They start to fall pretty quickly so serve them immediately for presentation. They taste just as wonderful once they have fallen though. I even saved the second one from the batch (covered in the fridge), microwaved it the next day for 30 seconds and it tasted great.

The second time I made them I did everything the same but I used this Greek yogurt instead.

At the end I pour half the mixture into one ramekin and then I gently folded in about a tablespoon of dark chocolate syrup into the other.

I’m not a huge chocolate fan and I don’t like dark chocolate at all but my husband does and he loved it!

I want to get some smaller ramekins so I can make the normal size batch of 6 and save the leftovers for breakfast or a snack.

The original recipe – makes 6

1 cup plain Greek yogurt

3 large egg yolks

3 large egg whites

3 tablespoons flour

1/8 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/8 teaspoon cream of tarter

1/4 cup of sugar

Bake for approximately 15 minutes

Chicken Fra Diavolo soup

2 medium chicken breasts, chopped

1 teaspoon red hot pepper

1 can tomato sauce & 1/2 can of water

1 cup white wine

1 large clove of garlic, chopped

1 teaspoon dry basil

Last weekend we got a pretty good snow storm in Denver. After stupidly going to Ikea (for a kitchen cart I don’t know how I lived without) we decided we were heading straight home instead of stopping at the grocery store. The plan had been to pick up one of their rotisserie chickens for an easy meal. So what to do now? I thought about all the things I had on hand and came up with this chicken fra diavolo soup. I will definitely be making this again!

I chopped up two chicken breasts and tossed them with about a teaspoon of red hot pepper. If you don’t want it as spicy just use less hot pepper.

I cooked the chicken in a fry pan until it was almost fully cooked. While I was cooking the chicken I began the soup. In a large sauce pan I simmered one clove of fresh chopped garlic with about a tablespoon of olive oil for approximately two minutes. Then I added one can of tomato sauce with a cup of white wine. I use Barefoot’s Riesling. It’s an inexpensive wine that I think is really good to cook with. Lots of recipes call for a dry white wine but I rarely follow that, I typically only use the riesling. I also added about 1/2 the sauce can full of water to make it a good soup consistency.

I added the chicken, approximately a teaspoon of dried basil and let it simmer on low for about 40 minutes.

With some bread for dipping it was the perfect meal on a snowy day. This recipe makes enough for two full bowls, you can double or triple it for more.

Enjoy!

The interest and support for my Flockers has been amazing. I thank you all so much! A lot of love and time goes in to creating them, it is a process I really enjoy.

To date I have made about 30 Flockers, 27 of which have traveled all over to their new homes. I have a list of ideas for Flockers that are still to come over time. I am always interested in the ideas that people come to me with for requests as well. I have received some great requests.

I created a Flocker page at the top of my site with pricing and my current commission list. Apple Flocker, the first apple I created, will be a joint donation for BCNY 2013 with Stitchwhipped and Sewpixie. More pictures of her and what she will travel with are to come.

I have received multiple requests for Neo Blythe and Middie Blythe Flockers and they are coming, I promise! I have plans to get an Icy doll or something inexpensive like that soon to test on. I need to sort out how much supplies and time will be needed so I can figure up a price. Once I have done that I will make an announcement and begin taking commissions.

Lady Flocker is currently hanging out in my shop looking for a garden to call her own.

Again, thank you all for the support!

This is a very hearty soup. It’s delicious and perfect on a cold winter’s day.

4 large baked potatoes, cubed

10 slices of bacon, cooked & chopped

1/2 cup butter (1 stick) & 2 tbsp.

2/3 cup all purpose flour

7 cups milk

4 green onions chopped

1 1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup sour cream

black pepper (and salt if you use it)

I bake my potatoes in the oven for about an hr before cubing them. I don’t peel them, just my preference. If you prefer not to eat the skin, peel them. I use light sour cream and skim milk when I make this soup. It’s very hearty even with fat free milk but use whatever is your preference.

Bake your potatoes and cook the bacon before starting the soup. In a large stock pot melt the butter over medium heat, then whisk in the flour until smooth. Gradually stir in the milk, continuing to whisk constantly until it is thickened. Stir in the potatoes, onions and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently.

Mix in the bacon, cheese sour cream, pepper (and salt if you use it). Continue stirring until the cheese is melted and then serve.

I serve mine with a little more shredded cheese sprinkled over the top and some crackers for dipping.

Enjoy!

On to a corner of Blythe towers with the infamous pooping cat!

Pooping cat – My cats set #7, 2008

Chicken soup can – Flirty pink #2, 2008

Toaster & pop tart – Fun meals #7, 2007

Hello Kitty toaster – I love cooking #2, 2010

Piggy hot plate – Cooking with mama #8, 2007

Pink bowl – Kawaii kitchen #7, 2007

I don’t know about the oranges that are in the bowl. They were sent to me as extras in a purchase awhile back. I don’t know if they are re-ment or some other miniatures. The kitchen appliances are part of the comfort kitchen set that I coveted and couldn’t find at a good price for a long time. I was able to get it at a decent price a few years ago thanks to a kind friend in the dolly community. I immediately remodeled the kitchen after receiving the set.

Re-ment Hello Kitty Eating at Home #3 Plenty of pancake syrup 2009

Re-ment dining table and chairs. I can’t find the release date. I’ve had it since 2008.

Who doesn’t love smothering their pancakes in syrup?! I love Hello Kitty and I love re-ment so I found the pairing of the two perfect. While I said previously that I’m glad they are bringing back more of the realistic sets and not every set being released is a character set, I do still love the Hello Kitty sets. Miniature Hello Kitty is just too cute to stay away from.

I used to make a lot of resin jewelry that I sold locally by word of mouth. I’ve been wanting to get back into it, I miss making fun pieces. I went through all of the pieces I have made and ready to go. I’m going to post them here for sale and then plan to get some new supplies to make some new things!

These pieces can be worn as a pendant on a chain (I usually hang mine on a ball chain or color cord) or they can be used as Blythe pull charms. I’m selling the pendants only, they will not come with any kind of a chain or cord.

They are all $10 each. If you are interested you can email me at luxieloudesigns@yahoo.com with the number or numbers you would like, your paypal email so I can invoice you and if you are in the US or international.

The ones below #45-55 do not have findings currently attached to them. If you are interested in any of these please let me know if you want a finding for a pendant or if you would like me to put a pin back on so it can be worn as a brooch. #50, 51, 52 & 55 can also be made into an adjustable ring.

I made oven baked french fries for the first time and they turned out great. I will always make them this way now. They’re tasty and easy, the perfect combination.

All you need are some russet potatoes and one reluctant husband to peel them. We used six so that we would have leftovers to reheat the next day.

I like thin crispy fries so I cut each potato into thirds and then sliced each third thin. I put the slices in a bowl of cold water to soak as I cut them.

Once they were all cut I drained the slices and patted them dry on clean kitchen towel. I tossed them on baking sheet with a small amount of oil (probably a tablespoon) and pepper. Bake them in a 475 degree preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, depending on how crispy you like them. About halfway through I mixed them around with a spatula to brown both sides.

In Hawai’i we had the most amazing ketchup with guava syrup in it. We had someone bring us back some recently when they went to Maui. I love dipping my fries in it!

Yum!

My favorite re-ment sets are the ones with realistic details. The tiny details are what first drew me to re-ment.

Table for one please.

Cafe table & chairs – off white 2008

American Kitchen set#2 2006

The cafe table and chairs have always been one of my favorite furniture items re-ment has made. The set is so versatile. I keep this set in the Cafe/Candy shop unless I’m am setting up a scene like this. The other version of this set is the wood grain table. I’d like to get that version before it becomes really hard to find and overly pricey.

The lemonade with the straw in the cup and slice of lemon on the rim are what really drew me to this set. There are other pieces that come in this American Kitchen set that aren’t pictured above.

Happy Miniature Monday!
